Embleton Chase Reserve

Providing something a little different to the brightly coloured look that is a popular choice for many urban recreational environments, the Embleton Chase Reserve playground utilised a more natural, understated style.

In line with the landscape architect’s brief, adventure+ installed a multi-age playground using the spectrum+ hybrid system, which combines steel and timber. This type of structure offers a natural look which can be accented with colour to add visual interest and appeal. The aim was to provide an environment that felt closer to nature and promoted the theme of exploration and discovery. Touches such as the rocking boat in a floor-scaped “sea” added to the design concept.

Each piece of equipment was chosen to provide a versatile, accessible play feature that would benefit children of varying ages and abilities. Street furniture and the inclusion of a barbecue and eating area makes it easier for families to “make a day of it” when taking their children to enjoy this facility.

I have worked with adventure+ before in the past and knew that they not only sold off the shelf items of play equipment, but have a lot of experience and success in custom design.
