An interesting study

Parent, urban designer, play space designer or all of the above – here’s an interesting study!

Recent international studies have found that challenging parenting behaviour may reduce childhood anxiety. About 7 per cent of Australian children between the ages of four and 17 suffer from an anxiety disorder that is at an anxiety level that interferes with their life.

It can be as simple as letting a child go a little higher on the playground or engaging in rough and tumble play.

We find these studies extremely interesting in the play design space. Creating play spaces and equipment is what we do every day and it is exciting that this can have a great impact on children’s development.
